Liberals can never admit when their policies have failed. Instead, they counter by saying that the Republicans’ policies of lower taxes and deregulation failed. History, however, has proven time and a again the government regulation and high taxes (the cornerstone of many liberal policies) cause economic downturns.

Soon after Barack Obama was inaugurated he proposed a stimulus bill that would rejuvenate the economy. His was to be the second stimulus that Congress and the president pushed on the American people. The first was passed under George Bush in 2008. It cost $152 million and was handed out in the form of rebate checks. It didn’t work either. Something the left was eager to harp on at the time.

Obama promised that his stimulus would keep unemployment from rising above 8% and that it would fall below 6% by 2012. The bill was to deliver millions of green jobs that would employ the unemployed and would make us self-sufficient in energy production without being dependent on fossil fuels. It would be paid for and not add to the deficit. It was to be the answer our problems.

Now in its fourth year, the stimulus (dubbed the National Recovery and Reinvestment Act) has yet to deliver.

The bill has cost roughly $825 billion, up from the proposed $787 million. The United States had no money to pay for this, so Secretary of State Hillary Clinton went to China to ask for money. China agreed. So the United States, under Obama, borrowed nearly a trillion dollars to pay for this piece of legislation. How does borrowing money help any individual or nation recover from an economic downturn? And at the time, the U.S. government had a $14 trillion deficit. So the stimulus isn’t paid for. Never was. China paid for it and we now owe China money.

Within months after its passage, the unemployment rate rose above 8%. It even reached as high as 10%, hovered at 9% for months before falling to its current level of 8.2%. This is considered to be a very conservative number. Many experts and Conservative groups believe it to be around 15%-17% especially if you consider all of the unemployed. The government bases its official unemployment number on the recently unemployed; those who have not worked for 6 months or less. Either way, the stimulus did not prevent the unemployment rate from rising. If anything, it caused it to increase. In fact, when the rate of unemployment began creeping up Obama admitted that the stimulus was doing exactly what it was supposed to.

The Stimulus was supposed to add millions of jobs. Some say that it has added 3 million jobs. This seems highly unbelievable, but we’ll go with it. The White House claimed that in January of 2012 254,000 jobs had been created. They even bragged that the private sector grew for 23 straight months. They make it sound like the worst is over.

But here’s the thing, even if 3 million jobs were added, at least 2 million or more have been lost. 3 million – 2 million = 1 million created, if the government’s numbers are to be believed. There are at least 12 million people unemployed. At least a million of the number have given up looking for work entirely. A lot of people who are employed, are only employed part time. Many American have seen their wages disappear. The number of Americans living in poverty has increased during Obama’s tenure as president. The Middle Class has shrunk under Obama. The number of families getting their meals at food drives has increased since 2009.

Those millions of green jobs never existed and will never be created. Instead companies like Solyndra, that received money from the Obama Administration, have gone bankrupt. Fisker Automotive, a Finnish car company, received money from the Obama Administration as well. Except, their car manufacturing plants are in Finland so only the Finnish are getting jobs. Also, Fisker is making an electric car that costs practically $100,000. Not something the average American could afford to buy. All the money the Obama has spent on green energy is wasted. Green Jobs only account for 2% employment nationwide.

Since the passage of the Recovery Act, the U.S. economy has stagnated. The private sector is actually shrinking. And when it does show some growth, it isn’t much. The stock market continues to lose money. On good days it evens out, but it hasn’t had a boom in four years.

This bill allowed the federal government to take over the American auto industry; something that blatantly violates the Constitution. We are to believe that Obama saved the car companies. If that were true, then how come they are barely getting by? The government took over Chrysler and General Motors. All the money poured into them was supposed to keep them from going under and help them create electric cars that everyone would want to buy. Well, four years later and they are limping along like a lame horse. They have yet to turn a profit and produce something worthwhile that Americans want to buy.

After its passage, Obama proposed another stimulus dubbed the Jobs Bill. He even proposed a fourth stimulus bill in 2011. Now, if Obama’s stimulus of 2009 worked, then why did he propose two more? Because the Recovery Act did not work and Democrats know it. All that money spent to jump start the economy did little except put America deeper into debt. It would have been better if they had just flushed it down the toilette for all the good it’s done.

Once again it is an election year. Once again those on the left are in attack mode and the Republicans are put on the defensive. So I believe that it is time to start reminding ourselves what all those Democrats/ Liberals/Progressives are all about, I will periodically be posting one liberal lie after another and explaining the truth.

Liberal Lie #1 Fascism is a right-wing political structure.

How this ever got promoted as a “truth” is beyond me. Even our modern history courses teach this concept. But have any of you really compared Fascism with Socialism and Communism? Fascism is as far from Conservatism as you can get. The Nazis had nothing in common with Conservatives.

The Nazis called themselves the National Socialist Party. They admitted to being socialists.

Under Fascism the government controls business. When Hitler took over Germany he also took over businesses with regulations. Now, he didn’t do it openly. Instead what he did is let individual people maintain the illusion that they were in charge of their place of business. Here’s what went on: as long as business owners followed the Nazi Party line, they were left alone, to an extent. But if they rebelled against the Nazis in any way, their business was taken from them and they were thrown in a concentration camp, or executed.

What Conservative advocates this?

The Fascists of Italy and Germany believed in a strong military state, i.e. armed troops walking the streets and acting a police force as well as a military unit.

Since when has a Conservative demanded that armed troops roam our city streets and act as a police force?

Hitler ordered the rounding of Jews. Under the Nazi’s over 6 million Jews lost their lives. They were forced out of their homes, all of their possessions were taken from them, they were put into concentration camps and treated like cattle, and then systematically exterminated like vermin. And so that he Jew would know that they were less than human, they were tattooed and forced to wear the Star of David on their clothing. If any person was caught helping a Jew, they were executed. Nazi soldiers were known for going into the ghettos that many Jews were forced to live in if they weren’t sent to the camps, and they would randomly kill people for sport. Then, the Nazis denied that any of this happened.

Have any Conservative condoned such an act or even promoted something similar?

Hitler had homosexuals and gypsies systemically rounded up and killed. Anyone who did not fit his definition of a perfect Aryan race was subject to execution. He even had baby factories where women were kept. Their job? To produce perfect Aryan infants.

Hitler basically eradicated religion in Germany. He didn’t burn down churches. (He did burn down Synagogues.) And non-Jews were allowed to go to their prospective places of worship, but churches were closely watched. The Nazis wiretapped many churches, especially Catholic Confessionals. If a priest or Religious minister said anything against Hitler or the Nazis, he was arrested and killed.

Instead, Hitler replaced religion with the Nazi state, with him placed at the center like a god. All children were forced into the Hitler Youth to be educated in the greatness of the Aryan race and the Nazi Party. They were basically brainwashed to believe that the state was their friend. Many children were encouraged to spy on their parents and even turn them in if they said or did anything that questioned the Nazis.

This is Fascism. What Conservative has ever promoted any of this things that the Nazis or even the Fascists in Italy did?

Fair Trial? Innocent until proven guilty? Equality before the law? Not anymore.

Yesterday George Zimmerman was arrested on charges of second degree murder. Is anyone surprised? You shouldn’t be. This whole affair was only going to end one way, especially since the White House choose to get involved. From the moment Zimmerman pulled that trigger his life was forever changed. Not because he inadvertently killed someone, but because our government is using him to make an example of what happens when a non-black kills someone who is black.

Before all the facts had been released about the incident, the media immediately painted Zimmerman as a racist, bigot, angry, cold-hearted, white man. They pushed the notion that he hunted Trayvon Martin down like a dog and killed him simply because the kid was black. They imprinted in the minds of the people that Zimmerman was guilty of cold-blooded murder. They did all this within the first twenty-four hours.

Then President Obama decided to get involved in an incident that wasn’t any of his business and demand justice for Trayvon’s death. Eric Holder threatened to investigate the police department in Sanford, FL if they didn’t charge the man. They are currently investigating the department as of right now, but the media is not reporting this.

Trayvon was presented as an innocent victim with countless photos of him at age 12. His real age was 17. Members of Congress accused Zimmerman of racially profiling the kid because he was black and in a hoodie, even though there is no evidence of this. NBC edited the tape of the 911 call from Zimmerman to prove that he hunted Trayvon down for being black.

Then this past week three things happened in quick succession, which is anything but coincidence. First, Zimmerman’s two lawyers quit the case. They claimed it was because they couldn’t get a hold of the guy, but somehow they had the address of where he was staying. The next day, Zimmerman is arrested on charges of second-degree murder by the same prosecutor who told the press a week earlier that there wasn’t sufficient evidence to charge him. Today the prosecuting attorney suddenly had an affidavit to show as proof that she had sufficient cause to make the arrest.

After six weeks of evidence coming forward that backed up Zimmerman’s claim of self-defense and suddenly new evidence comes forward proving his guilt and he’s arrested. Who cares that eyewitnesses said Trayvon was beating Zimmerman? Who cares that the paramedics testified that Zimmerman had suffered injuries that backed up his claims? Who cares that for six weeks the police said there just wasn’t any evidence to justify an arrest? Who cares that evidence came forward proving that Trayvon was not some sweet and innocent kid, but someone with a record of being a trouble maker and therefore capable of starting a fight?

This entire affair is disgusting and not because someone was killed. Obama is exploiting this to its full capacity to keep the public distracted from the election and his failed policies. Spike Lee, who is racist against whites, tweeted the address of an old couple claiming that it was Zimmerman’s. That couple has received threats and harassment ever since. The New Black Panther Party, a group full of angry blacks who want the blood of whites, put a price on Zimmerman’s head calling for his death. Many within the black community have threatened to riot if Zimmerman isn’t punished. Al Sharpton is using this further himself. He always was an arrogant jerk who craved fame and fortune. The media tried and convicted Zimmerman in the court of public opinion. Because of the ridiculousness of this whole affair, there have been increased attacks on whites by blacks. And do think Obama is going to give the families of those people personal phone calls?

Sometime in the next few months there will be a trial, assuming Zimmerman doesn’t do a plea bargain. This is not going to be a fair trial by any means. This trial is for show. Considering that way the media and Obama turned this into a national nightmare with their hype, the jury will not be impartial. The outcome of this trial has been decided. Zimmerman will be convicted. Everything points to that. Now, he can appeal his case, but that is assuming he lives long enough to make it to an appeal. If he is sent to prison he’ll be killed. Even if here were found not guilty and set free, he’ll be shot on the street. Too many people are thirsting for blood.

If Zimmerman is declared “Not Guilty”, there will be rioting in the streets. Remember the L.A. riots of 1992? This will be a lot worse because it will be across the country. The majority of the black community is full of angry people looking for any excuse to act out. And they are watching this thing waiting for the right time to lash out.

Now, what is the real point of this affair. It’s not the fact that some kid died. It isn’t the fact that Zimmerman will have to own up to his actions. The point of this is that there is no such thing as justice anymore in this country; at least not if you white, or even remotely white. (Zimmerman is actually of Hispanic origin, but that doesn’t matter to those who want him dead. As far as a lot of blacks are concerned, if you’re not black you’re fair game.)

Whites are being discriminated against and no one cares. There is a lot of black on white violence, but it goes unreported since it doesn’t follow the progressives’ politically correct viewpoint. Congress is considering a hate crimes legislation that will basically make it illegal to be white. There are several problems with this law. 1. It violates the First Amendment by taking away an individual’s right to freedom of speech. 2. It is vaguely written and therefore can be interpreted in a variety of ways. 3. It will be over a thousand pages of legalese that neither Congress nor the President will bother to read. 4. In a politically correct country where whites are viewed as villains and blacks are always treated as victims, a large amount of whites, or non-blacks in general, will find themselves charged with a hate crime. 5. If you are not black and you say or do anything against a black person it will be considered a hate crime. 6. The entire law is unconstitutional. 7. The law itself is racist and puts one group of people against another on the basis of race. Later religion will be added to that where Muslims get away with everything and Christians are charged with hate crimes.

Some of you reading this may think I am overreacting. But am I? Obama has been pushing Hate Crimes legislation for over three years. For decades there has been growing hatred and resentment towards white people, or anyone who is light-skinned. Think about it, the national media is bending over backwards to ensure justice for the death of a black kid in Florida. But they remained strangely silent when a white couple was brutally raped and murdered by a gang of blacks.

The incident happened in Knocksville, TN in 2007. A gang of five blacks carjacked a young white couple. Here is the account of what happened:

Christopher Newsom, 23, was tied up and raped, shot in the back of the head and then dragged to a railway track and set on fire.

His girlfriend, 21-year-old University of Tennessee student Channon Christian’s fate was even more horrific.

Her death came only after hours of torture, during which time she was raped and savaged with a broken chair leg.

She was beaten in the head and a household bleach was poured down her throat and over her bleeding and battered genital area in an attempt by her attackers to cover any evidence of rape – all while she was still alive.

Then she was ‘hog-tied’ with curtains and a strip of bedding and a plastic bag was wrapped over her face.

Her body was stashed inside five bigger rubbish liners and dumped in a bin, where, according to the autopsy report, she slowly suffocated to death.

Where were the cries from the media calling for Justice? Where was anyone? On their couch watching American Idol because the incident wasn’t considered that important.

Last year two British students vacationed in Florida and were murdered by a black teen because they were white. The media never reported it, except for on the local level. Barack Obama never called their parents with a personal apology. Just like in the previous incident, the very ones demanding justice for Trayvon Martin did not care about the brutal murder of a bunch of white people.

The murder of these four people were not only more brutal than Trayvon’s, but were based solely on race. There is no evidence suggesting Trayvon was targeted because of his skin color. Read the article here.

So why the different treatment? Politics and bias on the left. Obama will never openly condemn black on white violence because he is racist against whites and it isn’t politically expedient to accuse blacks of racism. The media will never cover black on white violence for the same reasons.

Get prepared for a wild ride this summer. When Zimmerman goes on trial people’s emotions will be flying. The threat of riots taking place across the country is there. And once again whites will be demonized as racist bigots. And justice will not be served.

The truly sad thing about this, is it shows exactly what has become of us as a country. It demonstrates a huge portion of what is wrong with America.

Dear Mr. President,

What were you thinking when you made that public speech about Trayvon Martin’s parents? Or were you thinking? All you did was take something that was a local matter of a shooting and turn it in to a national mess and stir up old hatreds.

Now Congress had a hearing about hate crimes in this country. Of course, they are only concerned about crimes of hatred against blacks and maybe Hispanics, but do not concern themselves with the fact that whites also suffer from discrimination. This is ludicrous! With all of the things happening in the world (riots in Europe, a continued failing economy, Islamic takeover of the Middle East, Iran having nukes, etc.) you and Congress are concerned about the death of a black kid in Florida. How many more degrees of stupid can you get?

People are killed every day in this country. It’s unfortunate, but it happens. Trayvon’s death, though unfortunate, is just one among many. So why does his family get the personal attention from you? Not long before Trayvon Martin was killed, two white tourists from England were murdered in cold blood by a black teenager. The murderer admitted his guilt and that he killed them because they were white.

Where was your apology to their parents? Where are the demands for justice? Why weren’t their parents called before Congress to discuss hatred against whites? Where are the demonstrations outside the murder’s family’s house? Where is the outrage? It doesn’t exist. Why? Because the victims were white.

You, Mr. President, are a racist and a leech that feeds of hatred and civil unrest. The real reason you made your public outcry about Trayvon Martin’s death is because he was black and this was your chance to promote black power. The other reason is the fact that this is an election year and your job is up for grabs. You cannot run on your record, so you cause national outrage over a local Florida matter to cause a distraction.

If this thing get even more out of hand, you, Mr. President, will be responsible for the death of innocent people. There are people calling for blood. And not just the blood of George Zimmerman, but the blood of white in general. There could be riots across the country similar to the L.A> riots of 1992. All this is happening because many within the country, especially within the black community, have taken your words as a call for action.

Of course, there is still time for you to calm things down. But, Mr. Obama, we all know that you will not. You love the unrest and the anger that is building. That is how you gat election in 2008 and that is how you will achieve victory in 2012.

You have failed to unite Americans. Instead, you have succeeded in dividing us as people stupidly fall for your games.

The entire nation and even President Obama are shocked about the death of Trayvon Martin. Obama gave the parents of Trayvon a personal apology. Al Sharpton is busy trying to get them justice. Spike Lee released what he thought was the address of the shooter, Zimmerman. (It turned out to be the address of a woman who lives alone.) The Black Panthers had a $10,000 reward for anyone who brought Zimmerman in dead or alive. All this because one black kid got shot and killed. (And FYI, the shooter is Hispanic, not white.)

But what is really going on here? This about more than the shooting of a black kid. This is about creating a crime where there isn’t one. Everyone assumes that Trayvon was brutally murdered. But it turns out that he wasn’t quite so innocent. The kid was suspended from school for possession of marijuana. Zimmerman is part of the crime watch for his neighborhood and noticed Trayvon walking around acting suspiciously, so he followed him. Now it has come out that Trayvon may have attacked Zimmerman and in the scuffle he was shot.

Zimmerman has always maintained that the shooting was done in self-defense. But instead of believing his story, or waiting for local authorities to finish their investigation, people jumped on him and accused of committing a hate crime and cold blooded murder. Now the guy is being tried in the court of public opinion instead of the court of law. Also, Trayvon’s parents are speaking before Congress about hate crimes and racial profiling at a hearing convened by Democrats. This entire thing has been blown out of proportion and the real victim here is Zimmerman,

How did this incident get so bloated? Well, first people started calling it a “hate crime” and “racial profiling” even though there was no evidence to support such claims. Then, Obama opens his mouth and involves himself in something that does not require his attention. This is a matter for local authorities, not the President of the United States. Now, Democrats have found a way to use this for their own advantage and have called a special session of Congress to discuss “hate crimes”. Trayvon’s parents are being used and they don’t even realize it.

But here is the truth of the matter: this is all a distraction from Obama, the bad economy, and the 2012 election. Think about it. This was simple shooting and a kid got killed. This sort of thing happens all the time across the country and never garners national attention. But Obama is hurting in the polls. His precious health care bill is being examined by the Supreme Court. The economy is in worse shape than it was three years ago. Gas prices continue to rise. Iran has nuclear technology and North Korea is flexing its muscles. Obama needs something to get people’s minds off him while at the same time looking like a hero.

With the shooting in Florida he has seized his chance to distract the public and play the hero of standing up for the rights of minorities. The public and the media are eating this up.

Another thing that is not being mentioned is the fact that there are a lot of incidents of whites being singled out by blacks, being beaten and tortured. Yet, no one talks about it. No one stands up for the rights of these victims. They don’t get special sessions before Congress or an apology from the president. Why? Because these victims were white and we all know that only whites are racist and that they deserve being beaten. Eric Holder has said the “Only whites and Hispanics commit hate crimes.” Where was Obama or Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton when Carter Strange was attacked by eight black men in South Carolina? Nowhere. Not a one of them bothered to acknowledge the event. None of the perpetrators were charged with a “hate crime”, even though it was clear that it was one. There is a double standard here; one that no one on the left or the media will talk about.

Basically, there are two things going on here: 1. Obama is using this as a way to distract the nation from his failed policies and 2. This is being used to promote the lie that blacks are the only victims of racial profiling.

So once again an unfortunate shooting takes place and someone got killed. But because the victim was black, the shooter is being tried and convicted in the minds of people and the media, even though the evidence supports his story of self-defense. Nothing good will come of this. Congress will probably pass another law concerning hate crimes. Regardless of what he local authorities decide, Zimmerman’s reputation is ruined. People across the country are already asking for his head and he and his family will continue to pay the price. Trayvon’s parents will continue to grieve and to be used by Sharpton and the Democrats for their own gain. But what can we expect from a crowd that believe no crisis should go to waste? And Obama is exploiting this for all its worth.

Today I finally watched the movie Atlas Shrugged. It is the first part in a three part movie series based upon the book Atlas Shrugged. The movie itself is very entertaining, engaging and thought provoking regardless of your political leanings. Now, I have never read the novel, but the movie itself parallels many of the economic struggles that we are having today. The movie begins in 2016, the United States in in a deep recession and many are calling it another Great Depression. Unemployment is 24% and gas cost about $42 a gallon. The heroine of the story, Dagny, decides to go out on her own and build a railroad using a new type of steel that is stronger, more durable, and better able to handle high speed trains. She, with the help of the guy who owns the rights to this commodity, complete the project and test it successfully. Dagny does all this to solve the problem of transporting oil from Colorado the other parts of the country efficiently so as to reduce the price of oil and gas. In short, she saw a problem and she figured out a way to solve it without the help of government.

Naturally along the way she runs into one obstacle after another by government bureaucrats and union leaders. Each group claim they want to solve the economic crisis, but then turn on her when she finds a way to do it. Instead, they shut down successful corporations forcing them to break up because “it’s not right they one corporation expands while others are forced to go under”. The politicians use a government funded research facility to claim that the steel used in the construction of the railroad is faulty which causes the head of the union to tell Dagny that she cannot order someone to test drive a train on a dangerous railroad because it violates their human rights. After the success of her project is proven, the Economic Management Board passes a moratorium effectively shutting down her railroad and her company. The government also passes a federal tax to be imposed on the state of Colorado because it is the only state in the union thriving economically. This is all done in the name of social justice and economic fairness. This is where the movie ends and now we wait for part two which is to be released in the fall of 2012.

While I watched this movie, I could not help but notice similarities between it and todays current economic and political climate. We have a bloated government that cares more about handing out welfare checks and buying votes than actually helping the country. We have a president who surrounds himself with far left ideologues. He constantly promotes “fairness”, social justice, and income equality. Almost every speech Obama gives he trashes the wealthy who produce jobs and promotes higher taxes on them so as to “spread the wealth” around.

Some of you may think that a society, like what exists in Atlas Shrugged, could never happen here. It is happening. For the past 80 years or more the federal government has grown in size well beyond the constraints of the Constitution. We are less free today than we were fifty years ago. The federal government controls almost every aspect of our lives and continues to seek more power. We now live in a society that produces people, such as the “Occupy Wall Street”, who want to take the fuits of other people’s labor all in the name of “equality” and “fairness”. There is nothing fair or equal about stealing someone else’s hard earned achievements.

If you believe that Atlas Shrugged is just right-wing nonsense and could never happen, then take a look at the world around you. We now live in a country that:

· Has $4 a gallon gas that will likely reach $5 a gallon before the end of the year.

· Has a president who unilaterally decided to decline the construction of the Keystone Pipeline that would have brought Americans oil and reduced energy costs.

· Has a government that has sunk billions of dollars in “Green Energy”, and has little to no return on it. Remember Solyndra?

· The government owns the health care system. When Obamacare passed your health care became government property. Now all individuals must purchase health insurance from pre-approved plans. All individuals will be required to go to an advisory board to discuss their health options. Every Senior Citizen will be required to attend “end of life counseling”.

· We have an economy that continues to stagnant and grow worse despite all of the stimulus funds that the federal government pumped into the economy. Though most of that money went to pet projects of politicians.

· An entire valley in California has been forced into poverty because of a government mandate. In the effort to protect a fish, farmers in California have been denied the right to farm their own land. Not only was most the food produced here shipped across the country, but now these people are out of work in an already bad economy. Look at the produce in the store. Most of it is imported because our government won’t allow American farmers to farm. Even if you are allowed to be a commercial farmer, the federal government still dictates what and how much you can produce.

· We have a 15 trillion dollar deficit that is dangerously close to 16 trillion. The deficit was 14 trillion when Barack Obama was inaugurated. That means in three years he raised it by 1 trillion. Not even George Bush did that.

· Government spending as a portion of GDP has increased. It now makes up about 26%.

· Even though Obamacare has only partially been implemented, its cost has gone up by 11 billion dollars from last year’s estimates. And that number is project to increase even more. Also, many are leaving the medical profession so that they do not have to deal with the new mandates.

· The value of the dollar continues to fall.

· The federal government now owns General Motors. The president fired GM’s CEO in 2009 and appointed his own. He also gave the United Auto Workers Union a large amount of concessions concerning the reorganization of GM. When the feds took over GM, many successful dealerships were forced out of business. Obama used this as an opportunity to complete a pet project of his: forcing Americans to buy electric cars. The car was going to be the Chevy Volt, which has been put on hold because it is not cost effective and nobody wants it.

· Many businesses are closing their manufacturing plants in the United States and moving to countries like China and Indonesia.

· The cost of living continues to rise while people’s paychecks shrink.

· Private industry has shrunk drastically in the last three years.

· If you invent a valuable piece of technology that can revolutionize the world, the government can take it away from you. They will either do it legally, or find other means of shutting you down.

· Barack Obama himself has said that “I do think that at some point you’ve made enough money.” Soon after this statement Congress passed the financial overhaul bill of 2010 which allows the federal government control over financial institutions. It imposed new regulations on credit card companies which has hurt consumers more than help them.

· The IRS can delete funds from your bank account if they believe you owe back taxes, and they do not have to tell you about it.

· The government can use “eminent domain” to take your property away from you. Sometimes, bureaucratic agencies such as the EPA prevent people from living on their own property. If the EPA declare your land a swamp, for example, then you no longer have rights to that land, though you will still pay taxes on it.

· Hollywood culture and much of the media are progressives and promote the progressive ideology, thus aiding the government in lying to the people.

· Many in the government want to re institute the “Fairness Doctrine” so as to silence critics, especially conservatives.

· About half of the U.S. population live on welfare. The number of people receiving food stamps has increased from 28.2 million people per month in 2008 to 46.2 million as of October 2011.

Are you getting the picture? We resemble George Orwell’s 1984 or Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World more than the United States of America. We are not a capitalistic society anymore. Our economy resemble socialism more than anything else. It is what some would call “soft socialism”, but it is socialism none the less. We just do not recognize because many of us today grew up in a country full of rules and regulations.

We are living in the world of Atlas Shrugged. In the movie, and the book, this question is often asked: Who is John Galt? John Galt in the individual who wishes to be free from government constraints and just wants to live their life as they see fit.

But here is a question we should ask ourselves: Where is America?

America was once a free and capitalistic society, but we have lost much of that to government intrusion and the promise of security and fairness. The dream that was America is practically gone. It is being replaced by control freaks and altruistic do-gooders in Washington and academia. It has been replaced by a public that recklessly gave up their liberty for the false promises of security.

So I ask you, where is America? What happened to her?

Barack Obama’s administration has not only decided that everyone must have health insurance, but they have also decreed that said health insurance must provide contraceptives.  Now, this is only in the news because various Catholic organizations have decreed that being forced to provide contraceptives goes against their conscience and the first amendment.  By the way, you should ask yourself if you even knew that providing contraceptives was mandatory according to the health care bill until this came out.

Here’s the thing, the entire health care legislation violates the first amendment and the Constitution.  The government has not only mandated the purchase of a commodity (health insurance), but they have also mandated what that commodity must consist of.  The government has decided.  They have decreed.  Where is our individual choice?  Where is the right of the individual and of individual organizations to decide if they want health insurance and all that it offers?

The federal government has not right or authority to mandate the purchase of any commodity and that includes health care.  It doesn’t matter if they think it is best.  To mandate this is overstepping hteir bounds.  The federal government also has no right or authority to force any organization (religious or non-religious) to provide contraceptives.  What kind of health insurance is offered should be left to businesses and organizations to decide.

The Catholic, and other religious, organizations and groups are right to stand against the Obama administration on this issue.  Their very freedom is at stake.  Our freedom is at stake.  If the federal government can get away with forcing groups to provide contraceptives, what else will they force us to do?  What is to stop them from demanding that every organization provide monetary assistance in helping poor families purchase healthy food as part of their insurance coverage?  After all, we have an obesity crisis according to Michelle Obama.  (She might want to follow her own Let’s Move It campaign.)

There is more to this contraceptive controversy than just the forcing of religious groups to provide it.  The is really government forcing people to accept its mandates and ideology while at the same time saying that your personal conscience does not matter.

Where is the ACLU in all this?  Are they not going to stand up and help protect the rights of religious organizations and individuals?  Whenever children are asked to pray in school, whenever one student mentions God in a speech. the ACLU is right there to stop the forcing of religion upon unsuspecting people.  But whenever a religious person is forced to go against his religion the ACLU is absent.  (By the way, the mandate to provide contraceptives does not apply to Muslim groups.)

We have the right to the free exercise of religion.  Government is not supposed to force you to participate in any one religion.  It is to treat them all equally, while allowing individuals to worship according their conscience.  Within reason of course.  You cannot kill in the name of religion.

On the other side of the coin, the government cannot deny you the right to practice you religious beliefs.  Catholics do not believe in contraceptives.  Forcing them to provide contraceptives violates their right to the free exercise of religion.  Which means the federal government is violating the law.

Here is something that everyone should ask themselves: What gives the government the right to tell you that you must have health insurance.  What gives the government the right to force organizations to provide contraceptives as part of their insurance program?  What gives the federal government the authority to dictate to us how we should live, what health care we will have, what education our children will receive, and anything else that falls into personal choice and personal responsibility?

We have a Constitution and Bill of Rights for a reason.  It is to keep the federal government in line and to prevent it from becoming too big.  But for the last century we as a nation have not followed our own Constitution.  As a result, we have a bloated government that is encroaching into our lives and spending us broke.  If we continue our current course we will have a society where everyone is equally poor, on government assistance, uneducated, have our lives run by bureaucrats, and a worthless economy as our money continues to lose value.

What happens in this contraceptive case will affect your personal life.  You may not think so   But it will in the end.

Unemployment is down according to the media, so we should all rejoice and praise Obama.  But what is there to be overjoyed about?  The rate is only down by a miniscule amount and unemployment still hangs around the 8% line.  These unemployment numbers released by the government should always be taken with a grain of salt.

For the past three years the federal government has not been honest about the unemployment rate.  When it was around 9% according to them, it was probably closer to 11% or 12%.  But Barack Obama and the Democrats needed us to believe that his stimulus package was working, when it truth it has crippled the economy causing it to stagnant.

The government only counts people who are recently unemployed.  They stopped counting those who have been out of work for over six months, have given up looking for a job, and the amount of people forced to take part time jobs instead of full time work.  There are also a lot of people who manage to find temporary work.  But when it is over, they are back in the unemployment line.  However, you won’t find them included in the latest unemployment statistic.

Even if unemployment is around 8%, give or take a few percentage points, it is still an abysmal number.  The government claims that there were 240,000 jobs created last month.  What they fail to mention is that in prior months we have probably lost three times that amount and that doesn’t include 2009 or 2010 job losses.  The other thing the unemployment rate does not tell you is the rise in the cost of living.  Even if the amount of people out of work has decreased, most have settled for low wage or part time work, when they used to have high paying, full time jobs.  Add that to the increase in the cost of living.  If you’ve bought gas lately, or groceries, you have probably noticed that prices have increased.  In many places gas is around $4 a gallon and milk is close to $4 a gallon.  Produce prices have gone up as well as the price of bread and eggs.  Add this all together, Americans are not better off now than they were three years ago.  But the Democrats and Obama want you to believe differently.

This is an election, so politicians will do anything to get elected, especially incumbents.  Obama loves the perks of being he president.  He won’t give that up.  You can bet that he will tout the latest unemployment numbers as proof that his policies are working.  Under Obama unemployment has reached and remains close to double digits, the economy has stagnated, consumers are spending less meaning they have little confidence in the economy, and the deficit has increased by $4 trillion dollars.  What does it matter if unemployment goes down when the government spends money like water?

In truth, the economy is not on the road to recovery.  People have little confidence in it and in their leaders.  Prices on basic consumer goods continue to rise while the number of full-time well-paying jobs decrease  Obama and the Democrats want us to settle with what we have, instead of striving to achieve better results.

Another day.  Another Speech.  Barack gave his State of the Union address last Tuesday.  There was nothing special about this speech.  It was a rehash of all of his past speeches for the past three years.  Once again, Obama asked for more federal programs, created more federal agencies, more federal spending, more federal regulations, demanded that the States go along with his proposals, and demanded that Congress pass certain pieces of legislation.  Once again, Obama demanded that the government play an active role in the development of clean energy, something that is best left to private enterprise.  Once again, Obama participated in class warfare as he pitted the rich and poor against each with the tired mantra of the rich needing to “pay their fair share”.    Once again, Obama blamed Wall Street for the housing collapse when a bulk of the blame rests with Congress and the Federal government.

Obama’s State of the Union was full of meaningless fluff, but held little in specifics.  He spreads the lie that he saved the economy and created jobs, while many Americans wonder if they can get through on the next paycheck as prices on gas and consumer goods continue to rise.   Obama takes the credit for bringing change to the Middle East.  Though he neglects to mention that the Middle East is being overrun by radical Islamists who have little love for freedom or for Americans.  He wants to hand out free education, forgetting that someone bears the cost, and he wants to make illegals legal.

Obama talks about American values, but he does not know what our values are.  Barack Obama believes in a society where everyone earns the same, has the same amount of goods, works the same kind of job, has the same opportunities.  Barack Obama believes in the imaginary world of where everything is fair.  However, he doesn’t believe that he should be held back from his special opportunities.

Obama praised the military, but neglected to mention his cuts in the defense budget.

Obama made a lot of Demands of Congress, the States, and the people.  He did this while feeding his ego.

But there is a portion of this speech that concerns me and should concern every American.  Here Obama states:

“Some of what’s broken has to do with the way Congress does its business these days. A simple majority is no longer enough to get anything - even routine business - passed through the Senate. Neither party has been blameless in these tactics. Now both parties should put an end to it. For starters, I ask the Senate to pass a rule that all judicial and public service nominations receive a simple up or down vote within 90 days.

The executive branch also needs to change. Too often, it’s inefficient, outdated and remote. That’s why I’ve asked this Congress to grant me the authority to consolidate the federal bureaucracy so that our Government is leaner, quicker, and more responsive to the needs of the American people.”

Barack Obama is violating the Constitution by even making this request.  He is unilaterally changing the law of this land.  The way the Senate votes is laid down in Article One of the Constitution and cannot be changed unless both Houses of Congress choose to amend it.  For Obama to ask the Senate to change the way it votes is disturbing.  No president has done this before.  No president should do this.  The President and Congress belong to two different branches of government.

What is equally disturbing is Obama’s request for special powers that will allow him to unilaterally change the Executive Branch and the Federal Government.  This is not only unconstitutional, but it is wrong.  Nowhere does the Constitution allow the granting of special powers to the President.  Such a measure puts too much power in the hands of the President, in the hands of one person.

If Obama was granted this request, how long would he have this special authority?  Would he give it up?  This is dangerous ground and everyone should keep a careful eye on the Executive Branch, especially Barak Obama.  To even consider granting one man all this power is hazardous territory.

This is a path we as Americans must not tread.  It will only lead to our destruction.  Such measures are how people like Adolf Hitler came about.  This is how dictators get their authority.  They do not always take it by force.  Why, when people willingly give it to them?  This is the first step to turning the presidency into a dictatorship.  Do not grant the President emergency authority.  Doing so will sign the death certificate of American liberty.

Can we afford 4 more years of Barack Obama and his socialist policies? No we cannot. I know there are those who refuse to call Obama for what he is. But think about it; no president since F.D.R. has actively bloated the government, sought the destruction of the United States, and seized power.

Since being elected president Obama has:

· Out spent every previous president

· Grown the size of government while vastly shrinking the private sector

· Force the American people to accept government run health care (If you don’t believe this then you should study the health care legislation of 2010.

· Ignored Congress when they do not do what he wants by using bureaucratic agencies to enforce his policies or just issuing an executive order

· Allowed illegal to remain in the U.S. and wants Americans to pay for their college education

· Strengthened our enemies by allowing our allies in the Middle East to fall in the Arab Spring movements, which is quickly being overrun by the Muslim Brotherhood.

· Exerted more control over the financial industry with the Financial Overhaul Bill.

· Dissolved the Separation of Powers. Whenever Congress or the Supreme Court tells him he can’t do something, he does it anyway. Net Neutrality is a good example of this.

· Violated the Constitution time and time again.

· Increased power to the Executive Branch.

· Kept the economy in a recession despite all of his stimulus bills.

· Taken over the auto industry in America and turned it into a government run business.

· Appointed 30+ czars thus setting up a shadow government. All of these czars are not approved by the Senate and answer only to Obama. They are also all far left ideologues who think the United States needs to be turned in to Soviet Russia.

· Has used the NLRB to tell companies such as Boeing where they may build a manufacturing plant.

· Has issued many recess appointments to get his people in power when the Senate refused to approve of the appointments. Obama recently made a recess appointment to fill his newly created post of CFPB (which was created when the Frank-Dodd financial overhaul bill was passed), even though the Senate was not in recess.

· Caused the economy to stagnant as unemployment remains high. Though the government officially claims the unemployment rate to now be 8.6%, it is really closer to 11.5% since many who are unemployed are not included in the statistics. If Obama loses the 2012 election, do not be surprised if the official unemployment rate, as decreed by the government, jumps.

· Increased the national deficit to over15 trillion dollars.

· Made friends with our enemies while snubbing our allies. Obama loves to pal around with Hugo Chavez and placate Islamic radicals while he insults Israel which has always been an ally to the United States.

· Has managed to turn the presidency into a joke with his weekly concerts at the White House, games of golf, and constant vacationing.  While he and his wife live like royalty and tour the world, many Americans are struggling just to make ends meet.

· Increase the cost of living. The government says there has been no increase in the cost of living. If that is so, then why is it gas prices and the price of groceries and all consumer goods skyrocketed?

· Has made the federal government the only issuer of student loans. Before Obamacare passed, student loans were between the lender and the borrower and you could acquire one from any bank or financial institution. Now only the federal government can issue student loans, which means that students must now apply to the federal government for financial help.

· Has let the Middle East go to hell as he threw our ally Mubarak under the bus, allowing a bunch of Muslim radicals to oust him. Obama has also managed to allow the same radicals to take over Libya since he enabled the Libyan rebels to kill Qadaffi. Obama has allowed democracy to fail in the Middle East as radical Islamists, led by the Muslim brotherhood take over every country that had an “Arab Spring”.  When the people of Iran tried to protest Ahmadinejad, Obama ignored them. He remained silent as Ahmadinejad murdered his own people.

· Shrank our military with constant cuts in the defense budget. This just weakens the United States and paints a huge target on us for our enemies.

Is this the sort of man we want to remain as our president? As Obama seizes more power and blatantly violates our Constitution, America grows weaker. Each day we come closer to being in a fascist country where one man dictates everything. Barack Obama is a tyrant and a dictator. The senate has just cause to impeach the man, but refuse to do it. Many Republicans are too scared to stand against Obama.

In 2008, Americans wanted Barack Hussein Obama to be the 44^th president of the United States. What we got was a statist who has abused his power, violated his oath of office, and used every opportunity to take control of the country. America is best rid of him. This November you have a choice: Obama’s promise of slavery, or American Liberty.
