Letter to the President #10
Wednesday, March 9th, 2011Dear Mr. President,
With all of the turmoil within the Mideast, the high unemployment rate within the U.S., riots in Europe, you are hosting an anti-bullying conference for parents and students? As the President of the United States you have no authority to interject yourself into local affairs such as school bullying. This is not the first time you have done this. You were unable to keep silent concerning the protests in Madison, Wisconsin. The protests are a state issue for the state of Wisconsin concerning the state budget. It did not concern anyone on a national level, so why did you condemn Gov. Walker and stand for the protesters? It is interesting that you hear the pleas of pro-union protestors in Wisconsin, but ignored the Tea Party protests. Yet, the Tea Partiers were protesting the healthcare bill that you yourself were pushing through Congress.
On March 10, 2011 you are slated to hold an anti-bullying conference. Why? What makes school bullying such an important issue that the President of the United States must step in and tell people to behave themselves? Bullying is not a national issue and does not concern you. You have no business telling people to act civilly toward one another.
Mr. President, do you not have more important matters that require your attention? Where do you stand in the case of the recent riots that have sprouted in the Mideast.? What do you plan to do to ensure that countries such as Libya and Egypt do not fall into Muslim hands, who are ardently anti-American? How are you planning to handle the riots in Tunesia and Yemin? How do you plan to deal with a nuclear Iran, something that you could have prevented but chose not to. What about the war in Afghanistan? Are you still interested in winning n Afghanistan or has that become a political hazard to you?
On domestic affairs, will you urge Congress to allow drilling for oil within U.S. borders whether on land or offshore? Think of the jobs that would be created just by building new refineries and updating the ones that are in existence. Think of the jobs that would be created just by allowing offshore drilling. If we provided our own oil and became self sufficient in that regard, the United States would not need to import it. Think of how much money we’d save the taxpayer. The price of gasoline would decrease, the price of groceries and home goods would also decrease saving individual businesses and homes a lot of money. This would do more to quell the effects of the recession than your fruitless pursuit of “green” energy. If “green” energy was a lucrative business the private sector would have created it and marketed it long ago.
There is also the matter of the lack of a 2011 budget. Last year Congress refused to pass a budget for 2011. You even ignored that fact. Now, the newly elected Republicans are attempting to pass a budget for this year, but are being stonewalled by Harry Reid in the Senate. Where are you on this issue? Will you chastise members of your own party for failing to perform their duty in passing a yearly budget? You and your party have been spending money as though it will always be there with no budget in place. You could change this. But instead you are more concerned with bullies on Facebook.
Mr. Obama where is your leadership? For two years the American people have desired leadership. Leadership that you fail to provide. You talk around issues always taking the middle ground, gauging to see how events can be used in your favor. You spend your time playing politics. There is no unity within your administration. Your Secretary of State says one thing while you say another.
There are two years left of your term in office. You still have a chance to do the right thing; not because it will benefit you, but because it is the right thing to do. There is still time to spur economic growth by abandoning your socialist policies and pursuing the common sense guidelines of Reagan. Cut taxes across the board for individuals and business. Quite lecturing businesses and deriding them because they refuse to do what you want them to do. Tell your wife to stop lecturing people on their eating habits. She was not elected to office and has no business asking for federal funds or creating policy. Stand up for Americans. Stand up for American liberty and capitalism. Provide solid and moral leadership and people will follow.
And for goodness sake quit being a coward. Stop acting like you know better than the people. Quit pursuing policies that steal power from the American people and from the states. Quit growing the size of the federal government. Stop spending the country into oblivion and destroying private industry.
Mr. President, thus far you have proven to be a horrible President. You have failed to uphold the oath you swore on inauguration day. You have failed to provide solid leadership on both foreign and domesticate issues. Instead, you have acted like a spoiled brat. But there is still time for you to change course and follow the founding principles of this country. But the choice is yours. Will you stand up for American individualism and liberty, or will you continue to follow your path of benefiting yourself?
Sincerely,
